Escape to the Cotswolds

We’ve compiled our favourite villages to visit in the Cotswolds, as well as the best cosy spots to enjoy a roast, or curl up by the fire with a drink in hand. All you need is a car, and our guide, for a weekend filled with picturesque villages and gorgeous pit stops.

Burford

Bibury

Try The Stump for wood fired pizza and Italian small plates. They also have rooms on site starting from £109

Oddington

Visit The Fox village pub with swoon-worthy rooms, dreamy free-standing tubs, and excellent food

Clanfield

Call in at The Double Red Duke a 16th-century hotel with log fires, locally produced food, and colourful rooms from £200. Their terrace is worth returning to in summer.

Bourton on the water

Churchill

The Chequers is a more laid back pub making it a great option for your Sunday roast.

Langford

Try The Bell Inn if you’re looking for a gastropub with an open fire or a cosy bar area with lots of seating to have a quiet drink. Rooms start from £99.

Daylesford

For a slice of luxury stay at Daylesford cottages, self-catered, beautifully renovated luxury cottages, perfect for groups, or call in at Daylesford Organic to sample the beautiful food, drink, produce and homewares. Kingham

The Bull - visit this old-age boozer modernised by Phil Winser and James Gummer, the duo behind Notting Hill’s The Pelican. It’s just 10 minutes walk from Charlbury train station with rooms from £175.
